About Me

This is my journey toward escaping pain and pressing on toward peace.  I am a breathing contradiction in many areas as I love God and hate religion, am pro life but not anti choice, hate the war in Iraq but will support our troops with every breath, believe we need to punish those who are here illegally and help those who are not, and I believe we, as a country need to mind our own freaking business.

I'm a native Clevelander who's heart longs for the Pacific Northwest.  Though I have two degrees, I am a truck driver by trade.  There's nothing like having the entire country for an office!

I grew up in an fundamentally extreme religious environment, and though I left it many years ago, I'm realizing how much of it has not left me.  Part of this writing are my thoughts and feelings about escaping a cult.

I also grew up in an abusive environment.  As  a survivor of physical, emotional and sexual abuse, there have been many obstacles along the journey called life.  My parents divorced when I was young, both remarried not long after their divorce and have children with their respective spouses.

Though I grew up with a pretty warped view of God, I firmly believe He exists.  I have had to revisit much of what I thought I believed, sift out a lot of trash and am piecing together a new relationship with Jesus.  I believe the Bible is Gods word, but I also believe man has made it say more than what those pages really mean.  I finally like getting to know God!
